As summer winds down, we hope you will join us for a couple of events going on in the month of August as we get ready to return to school!
We partner with Grace Episcopal Church each week to provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment to build up children in their faith.
Nursery is also provided at 10:30 a.m. for children 6 mo. to 5 years.
Everyone who works with youth and children at Pike Road UMC are trained in the United Methodist Church's Safe Sanctuary program. Find out what that means.
The mission of Pike Road UMC Student Ministries is to create a Christ-centered community for our youth that values inclusivity, grace, and love for all people and to create disciples that will share these values with others.
Youth Ministry Schedule
Sundays 9:15 a.m.
6th - 12th Grade Sunday School (Keith Hall)
The values of our student ministries are rooted in scripture. Matthew 22: 37-39 states “… You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” We will prioritize our relationship with Jesus by loving him and loving others unconditionally.
John David Phillips is a graduate of Auburn University. In addition to leading the youth at Pike Road UMC, John David also teaches fourth grade at Forest Avenue Academic Magnet School. If you have any questions, please reach out to John David at youth@pikeroadumc.org.
Starting June 7, we will have Summer Academy where we learn from each other! Each Sunday, a different individual or family will be able to teach or connect their faith journey to music, sacred or secular, and then invite others to think on how music helps us tell our stories! We will be joining with our friends from Grace for this opportunity to learn and grow in our faith.
We hope you will join us in the sanctuary at 9:15 a.m. beginning June 7 as we grow together this summer.
If you are going to volunteer with our children or youth ministiries, you will need to complete the safe sanctuaries training. Please e-mail the youth minister to receive a link to the video and fill out the form. You can reach him at youth@pikeroadumc.org.
